Poetry Days

The event took place on the 3d of June!

Poetry readings in Pinsk took place for the fifth time! It’s nice that such an interesting event has become traditional. The programme of the Evening consisted of two parts:
Part 1 The Cup of Young Poets
Part 2 Literary readings by Swedish and Belarusian participants.
The evening was lead by Nasta Gulak and Pavel Lyahnovich.
During the break the guests enjoyed music by the group “Red Cat” and the exhibition “The two of us” by young artists from Minsk.
24 young poets from Pinsk took part in the Cup of Young Poets. Nasta Glushko from Pinsk Gymnasium ¹1 won the competition.
Their works for the guests of the Evening presented:
Åsa Maria Kraf (Sweden)
Hanna Kislitsyna (Belarus) (a short review of modern Belarusian literature) and beginning poets
Maria Martysevich, Tsihan Charnyakevich (Belarus)
Uladzimer Arlou (Belarus)
Alexandra Kronqvist (Sweden)
Rygor Baradulin (Belarus)
Unfortunately, Hokan Bravinger famous Swedish writer and international secretary of Swedish Writers’ Union couldn’t come. His works in translation were read by the actor of the Kupala Theatre Alena Ivannikava.
The presentations of Swedish and Belarusian writers made warm and friendly atmosphere.

 


May 31, 2002
in Pinsk took place Evening of Byelorussia and Swedish Poetry. It was organized by Kalegium, Pinsk city organization NGO “Francisk Scaryna Comradeship of the Byelorussia Language”, Association for the Support of Kalegium in Belarus www. vitryssland. nu (Stockholm) and the Swedish Institute. One of the enthusiasts of this cultural event was Kalegium friend Swedish photojournalist Maria Söderberg.


May 29-31, 2003
in Pinsk, Luninec and Mikashevichi took place Days of Byelorussia and Swedish Poetry for the second time. The event became wider geographically and became the bridge between Belarus and Europe.

May 27-28, 2004
in Pinsk City House of Culture took place regular Days of Byelorussia and Swedish Poetry for the third time. The support was given by Kalegium, the Swedish Institute, www. vitrysland. nu, Departments of Culture and Education of
Pinsk City Executive Committee.
The honor guest of the programme was the attaché of culture of Swedish Embassy in Russia Yan Shadek.
 

May 20-21, 2005
in Pinsk and Hrodno took place Days of Byelorussia and Swedish Poetry.
